Japan is known as the Land of the Rising Sun. That brief moment when night gives way to day — the sky shifting through shades of vermilion before the world wakes up — is exactly what the SimWorks Taquito Pedal Sunrise is named after. The Sunrise colorway captures those fleeting hues. What that means to you is yours to decide.
The Taquito is the Taco Pedal's smaller sibling. The front-to-back platform depth is reduced by 5mm at each end — 10mm total — which sounds minor but noticeably changes how the pedal feels underfoot. The smaller profile is less likely to clip tree roots or loose rocks, making it a natural fit for bikes with low bottom brackets. "Taquito" means "little taco" in Spanish, a crispy deep-fried tortilla wrap — compact, but with plenty of presence.
The concave platform settles your foot naturally into position, reducing fatigue on longer rides. Cup-and-cone bearings are high-polished and precision-adjusted by hand by MKS craftspeople. When rain or dust slows things down, the pedal disassembles for cleaning and re-greasing with a dedicated MKS cap spanner. A pedal you maintain and keep.
Due to tight clearance between the side plate and spindle, use a 6mm hex key for installation. Bearings are set with a slight preload from the factory — they smooth out with use.
