The Nitto VAN Stem is a compact and distinctive threadless stem made exclusively for Blue Lug and manufactured in Japan by Nitto. Inspired by classic ATB stems from the early days of mountain biking, the VAN Stem revives a duralumin design originally introduced in 1971 under the name MX-2.
The stem features a box-shaped body with a short 60mm length and top-loading clamp, giving it a unique and playful look while remaining highly functional. Its compact shape makes it ideal for modern cockpit setups where a shorter reach and strong clamping are desired.
Machined from durable duralumin, the VAN Stem is lightweight yet strong enough for demanding riding. The design holds handlebars securely, making it a great option for wide riser bars and swept-back handlebars. The 25.4mm clamp size also pairs well with many classic and Blue Lug–designed handlebars such as the Jam Bar and Sync Bar.
For additional versatility, the stem can also be used with 22.2mm handlebars when paired with Blue Lug’s exclusive Paragon Machine Works handlebar shims.
